How safe is sharp?

From a young age I was told 'be careful of sharp knives and our sharp implements, because you can hurt yourself.' Truth is the sharper to blade the less likelihood of cutting yourself in normal use.
It's the semi sharp or blunt things that cut us more than anything else. If the blade is sharp it will cut with little resistance and slice through what we intend to shave cut or trim with only minimal effort and guidance. When the blade is not to sharp excessive force has to be used and that's when slips occur and our fingers or legs cop it!
Reduce the risk of injury by maintaining a keen edge on all your woodworking tools.

Happy Shaving
